The concept is based on the fusion between the green and the urban areas, creating a new centrality based in the Aztec culture. The site was enlarged to better integrate the proposal with the city, connecting both green areas located in the North and South parts of the proposal (Zoo and Alameda Oriente).
The main airport runway becomes a new central boulevard that crosses the whole intervention area. It’s a densely developed urban centre, along the boulevard, that dissolves when it merges with its surroundings.
This centre generates new DYNAMICS: a financial area with offices, hotels, services and retail; International Fair of Mexico; CETRAM (with subway, bus, vans and taxis available); new museums (Aztec and Aviation); the music hall building and housing.
There is also a greenhouse, an amusement park and an urban agriculture area totally inserted in the green structure. The whole proposal is connected by a system of footpaths and bike lanes, relating it with their surroundings.
Creation of a sustainable urban park where water elements and NATURAL areas play an essential role in the site functioning. Depending on the seasons, they assume different forms associated with different uses. The water elements adopt distinct shapes, from big lakes to thin water lines.
The relationship with the green areas is innate, creating in all of them distinctive micro-climates allowing the raise of the humidity levels and lowering the pollution levels of the city.
